Overview

MyLost ("we", "our", or "us") operates a lost-and-found platform that connects people who have lost or found items or persons. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using the MyLost mobile application or any related services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Location Data

Location information (GPS coordinates, address details) is used solely to pin reports on the map and to surface nearby reports on your dashboard. This data is stored on our servers and displayed publicly as part of a report listing so that others can identify whether an item or person was seen near them.

You control the precision of the location you share. Providing GPS coordinates is optional; you may enter only a country and city if you prefer.

Data Sharing

Report listings — including the title, description, photo, and location — are visible to all users of the platform so that lost and found items can be reconnected with their owners.

We do not share your email address or precise contact details publicly; they are only accessible to you and, where you explicitly add a contact phone to a report, visible on that report.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of users.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Report data is retained until you close or delete a report. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the address below.

Children's Privacy

MyLost is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Security

Account passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. Authentication tokens are transmitted over HTTPS and stored locally on your device only for the duration of your session. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.

Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
